   The UPDRAFT is a non-profit organization that was founded and is based in Bloomington, IN by two Bloomington residents.  We help low income and foster children achieve their dream of a higher education by awarding supplemental scholarships for one, two, four year and advanced degrees.  Supplemental means just that….we do not pay tuition.  We help pay for things such as food, housing, computers, transportation medical costs, and book fees.  The UPDRAFT wants to bridge the financial gap between scholarship money and the necessities needed to complete a degree.  We are a fairly new organization but are proud of the fact that we have already awarded scholarships earlier this year.  The UPDRAFT presented its fist supplemental scholarships at The Martin Luther King Day Celebration at The Buskirk-Chumley.
   The Updraft wants to be  “The Warm Wind Beneath Their Wings.”  We hope to uplift and support as many children in need as possible.
